KCET 2024 results declared at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in; Meet the toppers (2024)

The Karnataka Examination Authority on June 1 released the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). Candidates can check their KCET results at the official website — cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. This year, the exams were held on April 18 and 19.

To check the KCET result, students have to key in their registration number and the first four characters of their name.

Result analysis

Along with the KCET results, the examination authority will also release the cut-off 2024 and merit list.

This year, a total of 3,49,653 students applied for the exam, of which 1,54,869 were male and 1,94,784 were female candidates. Out of these, 3,10,314 students appeared (1,39,274 make and 1,71,040 female candidates). In a boost from last year, a total of 3,10,314 students have been termed as eligible, out of which 1,39,274 are male and 1,71,040 are female candidates.

A total of 2,74,595 students are eligible for Engineering (1,25,830 boys, 1,48,765 girls), 2,15,965 for BSc Agriculture (88,931 boys, 1,27,034 girls), 219887 (89,891 boys, 1,29,996 girls) for BVSc, 2,19,483 students for BNYS (89,703 boys, 1,29,780 girls), 2,78,919 students for BPharma (1,27,014 boys, 1,51,905 girls), 2,79,313 for PharmaD (1,27,292 boys, 1,52,021 girls), and a total of 2,28,058 (92,194 boys, 1,35,864 girls) for BSc Nursing.

The number of students appearing for CET (PCM) has seen a dramatic increase from 3,093 in 2022 to 43,316 in 2023, and then to 59,904 in 2024. On the other hand, the PCM students decreased from 35,848 in 2022 to 4,917 in 2023, but have increased once again to 7,198 in 2024.

Students appearing for PCM and PCM have also increased from 1,71,888 in 2022 to 1,96,112 in 2023 and then to 2,43,212 in 2024. The total number of students, however, has seen its highs and lows with 2,10,829 students in 2022, increasing to 3,26,164 in 2023, only to decline slightly to 3,10,314 in 2024.

Last year, over 2.4 lakh students appeared in the entrance exam. More than 1.21 lakh boys and 1.40 lakh girls appeared for the exam. The exam was conducted in 592 exam centres across the state out of which 121 centres were located in Bengaluru. Nearly 16,000 non-Kannadiga students enrolled for this examination and were exempted from writing the compulsory Kannada exam, claimed KEA.

Meet the toppers

Harsha Karthikeya Vutukur, a CBSE student from Karnataka, has topped KCET 2024 (Engineering), followed by Manoj Sohan Gajula at second rank, Abhinav P J at third, Sanaa Tabassum at fourth and Animesh Singh Rathore at fifth.

The next five ranks (from six to ten) have been achieved by Prabhav P, Videep Reddy Jalapally, Shawn Thomas Koshy, Varanasi Karthikeya Sreeram and Sagar V respectively.

Interestingly, in the list of toppers of Engineering domain, only one student (Prabhav P) is from the Karnataka State Board. All other top 10 rankers are from CBSE Karnataka.

In BNYS, Nihaar S R (ICSE/CISCE) has achieved the top rank, followed by Sanjana Santosh Katti (ICSE/CISCE) at second and Preetam Ravalappa Panasudakar (Karnataka state board) at the third rank.

Nihaar S R (ICSE/CISCE) has also achieved the top rank in BSc Agriculture, followed by CBSE students Mihir Girish Kamath at second and Animesh Singh Rathore at the third rank.

Kalyan V, Harsha Karthikeya Vutukuri and D N Nithin (all CBSE students) got top three ranks in BPharma, and PharmaD. Interestingly, Kalyan V, D N Nithin, and Nihaar S R (who have achieved top ranks in other places too, got top three ranks in BSc Nursing.

Step 1: Visit the official website– kea.kar.nic.in

Step 2: Click on the result link on the website

Step 3: Enter your credentials such as application number and date of birth

Step 4: View and download the result

Some exceptions

If the result is withheld / not announced for want of 2nd PUC/ Class 11 marks card / proof of date of birth of any candidate, such candidates have to enter their marks in KEA marks entry portal. Thereafter KEA will publish his/ her result.

For admission to Medical / Dental courses and ISM & hom*oeopathy (except Naturopathy & Yoga) courses, UGNEET-2024 ranking will be considered. After publication of the UGNEET results and taking into consideration the MCC schedule, combined counseling schedule for Medical, Dental, Engineering and other professional courses will be announced.

Also, for Architecture course NATA scores will be considered and rank will be announced later. Similarly, the results for BPT, BPO, BSc-Allied Health Sciences courses also will be announced later.

The exam is conducted for admissions into various BTech programmes offered by the Karnataka CET participating institutes. Qualified candidates will be able to appear for the KCET counselling rounds for further admission process.
